This session during Michael & Shalun’s honeymoon in Muskoka truly holds a special place in my heart. Michael is my cousin and we have been close for our whole lives! Seeing him fall for his now wife Shalun warmed my soul. Their connection is so beautiful, I loved every moment of this session! They decided to have their staycation honeymoon in Muskoka at our Grandmother’s cottage.

 

This cottage holds a special place for both of us so I loved capturing the essence of our childhood and it brought back such fond memories. M & S were looking for a unique way to make their staycation honeymoon special so I was happy to get behind the lens and capture their love! These are photos that they will cherish for the rest of their lives and I am so happy for them! The circumstances last year were not going to stop them from celebrating their love and finding ways to make this milestone sentimental.

 

We started out at the road to capture some of that gorgeous forest just starting to turn to their fall colours. We continued to the boathouse roof where they love to watch the sunset every night and have many talks about their future together. I loved the intimate moments on the Muskoka chairs, an iconic symbol of Muskoka. We made our way to the dock to capture some cozy moments snuggling on the water. Then for the fun part, you have to get in the water in Muskoka! M & S were happy to get their feet wet and splash around a little! We captured many moments as we watched the sun set over the trees beyond the lake. It was so peaceful and I wish them so much happiness as they start their journey as a married couple.
